Fitness on the Farm

Stretch, strengthen, and get fit while surrounded by the sights, scents and sounds of the farm field of lavender at Brittingham Farms. Join Julie Wender, for a farm friendly adaptation of Shore Barre's signature full body workout, designed to give you chiseled abs, toned legs, well-defined arms, and a high, lifted butt. This ballet inspired, core-centric class focuses on isolated exercises, alignment, flexibility and posture as you work through targeted mindful muscle movements. Musically driven, motivating, and seriously fun! Each class finishes with a relaxing stretch, and an aromatherapy cool down featuring lavender infused towels. Suitable for all fitness levels. Age 13 and up.

Please bring a yoga mat, a water bottle. Class can be performed in gripped socks, bare feet or flexible exercise shoes. Your preferred sun protection is encouraged.

Julie Wender

Julie Wender, began her career at the barre 15 years ago in New York, where she was trained and certified under the direct tutelage of the barre industry’s most esteemed leaders and innovators. She has been Barre Certificed by exhale®, the American Council on Exercise (ACE) as a Group Fitness Instructor, and as an Orthodpedic Exercise Specialist. From 2016 - 2021, she owned and operated Shore Barre, Bethany’s first boutique style studio, dedicated exclusively to barre fitness. She previously owned and operated Metro DC’s first dedicated barre studio, Barre Belle Fitness, in Potomac, MD, 2011 – 2015.

Julie’s depth of training and practical experience in barre, provide her with an understanding of the structure and function of major joints, common musculoskeletal conditions, and general treatment clients may receive from orthopedic specialists. As a result, she has been able to develop a barre fitness program to incorporate exercise progressions that address muscle imbalances, prevent injury, and improve movement patterns, muscular strength and endurance. Her teaching style is encouraging, inclusive and accommodating to varying levels of fitness.
