Dave and Anna Lee, owners of Barrier Islands Salt Co., make 100% handcrafted, wildly pure sea salt from the mineral rich Atlantic Ocean. They hand collect sea water from the Virginia Coast Reserve, a 130,000 acre protected coastal wilderness – the largest on the East Coast. They then transform the water into delicate, briny, bright white salt flakes entirely by hand using centuries old artisan techniques.
“We’ve infused our Pure Flake Sea Salt with culinary grade Provence lavender buds from Brittingham Farms just up the peninsula in Millsboro, Delaware. The result is a salt blend imparted with the savory, complex, herbaceous flavor profile of Provence lavender and an absolutely heavenly aroma.
